At KTX Blue Towel Mission, we believe that what’s no longer needed in a hospital can still make a life-changing impact in our community. What started with surgical blue towels has grown into something much bigger.
We collect and recycle:
These surplus materials are washed, processed, and repurposed into useful products. The funds from their resale go directly into providing free home upkeep services—like window cleaning, exterior repairs, and safety improvements—for elderly homeowners across Texas who cannot afford maintenance.

Houston Methodist West has played an instrumental role in shaping our recycling process. Their surgeons, medical staff, and administrators helped us design the systems that make medical material recovery possible. As a Founding Sponsor, they have set the foundation for a partnership model we hope to replicate with hospitals across Texas and beyond.

The heart behind KTX Blue Towel Mission began with my dad. Watching him grow older and then seeing him seriously injured after falling from the roof and down the stairs while trying to maintain his home was absolutely heartbreaking.
He’s always been proud, hardworking, and independent, but that experience opened my eyes to how quickly life can change and how many older adults quietly face the same struggle. He’s strong and recovering, but the experience was a turning point for me and for him.
For so many seniors, home maintenance becomes dangerous or impossible. Yet their homes hold their memories, their comfort, and their sense of dignity. I wanted to create a solution that would honor seniors' homes and help others care for them safely, just as I wish my dad could have done.
